What's the deal with "Know your Basics" campaign

Sorry if this is a total outsider non-scieno question, but at the latest picket I saw a huge banner on the local Org proclaiming "Know Your Basics."



Is it a campaign to get members to buy new, expensive versions of Scieno books? How much is this supposed to cost the average member?

I've heard that this is a ploy by David Miscavige to try and get a big cash infusion into Co$ since public opinion and Anonymous are tightening the screws on the Orgs, new recruits are drying up and borderline members are laying low.

I'd love to hear from anybody that might know... what is this campaign all about?

What do current members think of this... Kosher or Cash-Grab?

Is it true that people who have been declared SP or blown the church are being called and mass-mailed constantly trying to get them back into the Orgs?

First of all, the Church is always revising its materials and coming out with new editions of the same thing, just to make money.

Being in Scientology is like living in a commercial. Whenever you walk into an org, there are always banners and posters and brochures and videos playing of the latest product for sale, etc. "Get your LRH lectures today! Contact your local registrar!" It's always more "Buy Buy Buy!"

As far as the Basics go... it's just the basic Dianetics and Scientology books that have been released because the previous editions had been "altered" and these new ones have all the "corrections" and it really makes a difference in the way you understand the material.

I think in a post one of the ex's alluded that at Delphi (?) they actually had it in the reading list because it was "what they were trying to save the world from"
