amnesty international/rpf and teens at flag

as some of you may know, in late february/early march of this year we gathered up information about the thirdworld country teenagers being abused at flag in clearwater and sent that info to amnesty international southern division in atlanta, georgia.

the southern division looked at the info and deemed it credible and important enough to forward to their national office in nyc for further investigation.

i called the southern division for an update today and the national offices are still investigating the information. AI thoroughly investigates everything before they become involved with it. although this is frustrating because we would all like for the spotlight to be shone on these abuses NOW, we must remember that AI is the only organization that's looking into the info that we have.

i did tell the woman that the teens are no longer working on the oak cove building in clearwater, but are now working at the ft. harrison. she asked that i send her that update by email and she would forward it to the national offices.

As some of you may have read over in why we protest, Amnesty International called me back this week.

The information that was sent to the National Offices in New York City was forwarded to the Amnesty International Offices in London.

The reason the information was forwarded to London was that they have more experience in dealing with Human Trafficking, slave labor, and the other abuses reported by all of us last year.

I have hesitated to write this in here because I can't even imagine how hard it must be for all of you to be given hope and then for that hope to fade away once again. I don't want to post false hope in this forum.

What I will do is tell you that the WHOLE exscikids website was submitted last year. There were even people who copy/pasted some of your stories and submitted them secondhand because Amnesty International takes first and secondhand information and they also take anonymous information. Some people did remain anonymous, but other people bit the bullet and namefagged themselves in the hopes that this information would be taken very seriously. There were many people involved with this project. Anons, ex-sci's, longtime anti-$ci critics, and the general public all contributed to this. In fact, some of the most damning information came from people in the general public who saw things and namefagged themselves when they sent their info to AI.

So, your voices were heard.

Please know that no matter what comes of this, there are people in Amnesty International who have looked at this information and who will not forget it.
